The (now-fixed) modlog indicates that no ban actually happened. I tried to ban FCfromSSC and it showed up in the mod log, I'll ping him on Reddit to see if he can try posting.
This suggests that either you clicked the wrong thing (possible), or that the ban feature was broken before and we accidentally fixed it (frankly, also possible), or that it's broken for you but not for me (similarly possible!) Can you try banning someone else and let me know?

I don't wanna start dragging people away from the main site, and everything on here is ephemeral and may be deleted with no notice. Patience! A week or two left, at most, I think.

Practically speaking, the guard is going to be "we ban you if we think you're being a dick about it". There's maybe room for more later, but it's not a priority when we can just spend some admin power on it.

Keep in mind that just because these posts can be made doesn't mean we'll permit them on the actual site. This site is for stresstesting and abusing the system; the real site will be for discussing things.

I'm assuming the upper limit is 16384, simply because that's a power of two. (Maybe 16383.)

Don't worry about it, as long as you aren't doing it intentionally and it doesn't take over the dev site I'm not going to crack down on it too much :)
